Flowserve is looking for an experienced repair mechanic to work on all processes related to disassembly and assembly of mechanical seals and related equipment.

  • Able to work alone and troubleshoot mechanical issues

  • Disassemble, inspect, reassemble and test repaired Seal products in a rapid response, \"quick ship\" environment.

  • Read and follow accurately all routers, instructions, checklists and engineering drawings or blueprints during all processes

  • Inspect Seals and equipment, checking dimensions of all critical components.

  • Ensure components are clean and free from foreign material and replaces and repairs worn parts

  • Process customer paperwork and repairs / worksheets in a timely and efficient manner, e.g. date stamp, tracking number, kit number. Repaired parts must be cleaned to standards established by the Edmonton QRC, bellows must be load and leak tested, test slip must be included in the repair tote bin, forwarded to assessment and then be placed in the job folder (bag) with the assessment.

  • Complete accurate, thorough inspection documentation, may include including photos and written descriptions of the wear and condition of components. Submit documentation for quotation.

  • Explain and discuss as needed the condition of all critical components of the mechanical seal or equipment.

  • Collaborate with others, sharing information and resolving problems with others in the shop, supervisors, sales engineers, buyers, and planners.

  • Self-verify workmanship. Inspect all components for critical dimensions and fits

  • Complete accurate, thorough assembly documentation, including inspection records, photos, and customer-specific forms.

  • Complete a final inspection on all parts, stamp heat codes and part numbers in both the shop

  • Occasionally assist with shipping and receiving

  • Perform required maintenance on QRC machines and equipment in a safe and consistent manner. Maintain all equipment within the QRC to in good running order.

  • Act in a way that that encourages teambuilding, decision-making, problem solving, and continuous improvements.

  • Adhere to and maintain quality work practices, qualifications, and procedures

  • Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy. Complete all Pure Safety and other safety training as required.

  • Work to achieve company production goals on time delivery objectives.

  • Show an attention to detail, a respect for processes & instructions customer-service, and be results-oriented mindset at all times

Position Requirements:

  • Mechanically inclined with a minimum of 0+ years of work experience in an industrial setting, specific experience in seals highly desired

  • Experienced and have a basic understanding in using precision measuring instruments, such as Micrometers, Verniers, Bore Gauges, Pressure Gauges, Meters, Dial Indicators, Rulers and Depth Gauges

  • Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable work ethic with a personal commitment to quality workmanship

  • Standing for long times required, full range of movement required, frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice

  • Must be flexible to work in all areas as workload requires

  • Basic computer skills - Word / Excel

  • Be willing to take Drug & Alcohol tests regularity to be able to access client sites as needed

  • Be clean shaven for fit testing as needed


  • Industrial Equipment Installation, commissioning and start up, and plant maintenance exposure would be an asset

  • Forklift certification desirable

  • Rigging experience is an asset
