Position Description:

We are currently looking for a Precision Assembler for our Kalamazoo, MI facility. Duties include but are not limited too:

· Safely conduct seal assembly, repair, and testing of mechanical seals and components

· Conduct collaboration and teamwork with the existing assembly, testing, and repair team

· Precision assembly of both cartridge and non-cartridge seals by following procedures and assembly drawings per seal assembly artisan program

· Perform repairs mechanical seals including decontamination and disposition of seal components

· Build face inserts and lapping the assembled inserts to print specifications

· Actively participate in CIP projects to improve department metrics such as Safety, OTP, efficiency, etc.

· Trouble shoot and actively participate with the collaboration process on trouble jobs

· Operate low pressure air testers to test cartridge seal

· Following the pressure testing safety procedure, perform hydro-testing on faces, glands, sleeves, and seal assemblies

· Actively participate in personal development

· Measure critical seal features such as sleeve bores, bolt torque, face flatness, and any other mechanical feature as called out on the drawing

The hours are 10:30 PM - 7:00 am Monday - Friday. Training will be a combination of first shift and split shift (11:00AM-7:30PM).

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Good communication and conflict resolution skills

· Have basic mechanical knowledge of hand tools

· Flexibility to change direction to meet changing business needs

· Have a basic understanding of instrumentation and gauging


· An introductory understanding of plumbing components and fitting preferred

· Ability to read P&ID diagrams preferred

· Trade school, automation training, or other education encouraged

· Competent computer skills preferred
