Position Summary

To machine, inspect and produce manufactured product per engineering drawings, operating procedures and instructions

Job Duties


% Time




Independently perform complex setups and machining operations on parts requiring strict geometric tolerances and finishes. Machine a wide range of exotic materials. Machine parts requiring critical, unique processes with minimal mistakes.



Safely operate a wide variety of machine tools. Regularly use a variety of complex measuring equipment.



Independently and efficiently run many different work areas and frequently provide training to others in those work areas.



Initiate and implement CIP activities and demonstrate positive behavior for change.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to read, write and interpret business correspondence, procedure manuals, work instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work Environment:

This position regularly requires work near moving mechanical parts. It occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Typical noise levels are loud.

Position Requirements:



  • Independently perform advanced machining operations including threading, multiple angles, long turning or boring, milling, etc.

  • Independently perform setups on complex parts involving irregular shapes that are difficult to hold

  • Initiate and or implement additional fixtures and tooling for complex setups

  • Independently calculate speeds and feeds for a wide range of exotic materials

  • Accomplish tasks independently with minimal supervision or instruction

  • Ability to identify waste and eliminate non-value added activities

  • Proficient computer skills for accessing and navigating systems including Oracle, LMS, PMP, ISOquest, email, etc.


Education Preferred:

Bachelors degree or equivalent; or ten or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
