Flowserve Corporation Manager, Engineering (m/w) in Villach, Austria

We are looking for our valve facility in Villach, Austria with around 260 employees and revenue of 70. Million Euro for a Manager Engineering (m/w).
In this position you will lead and manage the Engineering Group and represent the Engineering Department in the Management Team in Villach as well as in the Flowserve Oil & Gas Sector. You will be responsible for 20 people in Villach and 15 remotely. This role will include, but will not be limited to managing the resources and planning the capacity in order to meet the business needs.
As a Technical Leader you will be responsible for all our products, which are designed and/or produced in Villach, with the aim to be absolutely compliant with all applicable standards (PED, machine directives, CE conformity, customer standards and FLS product standards).
Act as Technical Advisor for any kind of product and/or project specific question inquired by our internal and external customers.
Develop cost optimized project specific solutions in close collaboration with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Project Management.
Collaborate across the business with local, regional and global operations as well as corporate functions to drive alignment of initiatives that advance Flowserve and FCO.
Act as Technical Manager in case of customer complaints, analyze any kind of issue, develop corrective action measures and write expert statements for our customers. Additionally you’ll carry in this role the legal responsibility for the design and development of all products, which are produced in Villach.
Partner with local, regional or functional teams to achieve or exceed the annual business plan (including P&L and business sheet objectives) by implementing process improvements and capital spending plans, reducing non-value added operating costs and shortening project lead times.
Recruit employees. Assign, direct, and evaluate employees’ work. Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Initiate and manage knowledge management programs, especially for the engineering staff so that the knowledge will be multiplied over the next years.
Partner with local teams in establishing / maintaining controls that achieve or exceed regulatory health and safety standards, meeting import / export requirements and operating in manner that aligns to Flowserve’s ethical guidelines.
Partner with local HR in ensuring that current and future staffing levels are appropriate based on business conditions, creating a work environment in which employees are proud to work, ensuring hiring managers are competent interviewers and selecting talent appropriately, driving efforts that seek to increase employee engagement, appropriately differentiating talent based on observed performance and skill, providing relevant development opportunities for employees to increase performance, ensuring that local leadership continuity is intact over time and minimizing retention risk of critical knowledge or personnel.

Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of adequate experience in an industrial corporation, control valves industry preferred
Familiar with regulations defined in the European Machinery Directives and in the Pressure Vessel Code
Sound command of the German and English languages
Able to motivate people and to work in teams

Required information pursuant to section 9 of the Austrian Treatment Act (GleichbehandlungsG): Minimum yearly gross remuneration as per collective agreement from € 49.027,86,-- p.a. upwards – overpayment depending on qualifications and professional experience.
